Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from Casablanca (7:30 AM). Visit the Hassan II Mosque — world's 3rd largest mosque built over the Atlantic (210m minaret). Drive north to Rabat — Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Kasbah des Oudaias, Chellah necropolis. Continue to Meknes — Bab Mansour gate, Moulay Ismail mausoleum, Heri es-Souani granaries. Overnight in Meknes.
Morning at Volubilis — UNESCO Roman site with 2nd-century mosaics, triumphal arch, and basilica. Drive north through the Rif Mountains to the magical Blue City of Chefchaouen. Afternoon exploring the famous blue alleys, central plaza, old kasbah museum, and Spanish mosque viewpoint. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Morning free in Chefchaouen. Drive east to Fes. Full afternoon guided tour of Fes el-Bali medina — the world's largest car-free urban area (UNESCO). Chouara tanneries (11th century), Al-Attarine madrasa, Bou Inania madrasa, Kairaouine mosque (founded 859 AD — world's oldest university). Evening at leisure in the medina. Overnight in Fes.
Early departure. Drive through Ifrane and the Azrou cedar forest (Barbary macaques). Lunch in Midelt. Spectacular drive through the Ziz Gorges and the vast Ziz Valley palm grove. Arrive Merzouga for sunset camel trek into Erg Chebbi. Berber dinner, Gnawa music, overnight in luxury desert camp.
Dawn Sahara sunrise over Erg Chebbi. Full day: 4×4 excursion to flamingo lake and nomadic families, sandboarding, Khamlia village Gnawa music, optional quad biking. Second magical night in the desert camp under the stars.
Second Sahara sunrise. Visit Rissani souk. Tinghir oasis. Todra Gorges walk (300m high cliffs). Through the Dades gorges along the "Road of One Thousand Kasbahs". Visit UNESCO Ait Benhaddou. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Cross the spectacular High Atlas via Tizi-n-Tichka pass with panoramic stops over the Atlas peaks and Berber kasbahs. Arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon. First taste of the Red City — evening at the legendary Jemaa el-Fna square. Overnight in Marrakech.
Full guided tour of Marrakech: Koutoubia Mosque gardens, ornate Bahia Palace (19th century, 150 rooms), Saadian Tombs (16th century royal necropolis), El Badi Palace ruins, Jardin Majorelle (cobalt blue Yves Saint Laurent garden), and the labyrinthine souks. Evening again at Jemaa el-Fna. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day trip to the stunning coastal city of Essaouira — UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the dramatic 18th-century sea ramparts with their cannon batteries, the vibrant blue fishing port, the art galleries, the wind-swept Atlantic beach (popular with surfers), and the medina souks known for their thuya wood crafts and silver jewellery. Fresh seafood lunch. Return to Marrakech for final overnight.
Free morning in Marrakech for last-minute shopping in the souks, a visit to the Musée Yves Saint Laurent, or Ben Youssef Madrasa. Drive north to Casablanca (~3h via motorway). Arrive in Casablanca by early afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport. Tour ends.
