An eight-day circuit from Casablanca covering nearly every face of Morocco. The route runs north through Rabat, Meknes, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis to the blue city of Chefchaouen, then south via a full Fes medina tour to two nights in the Merzouga dunes — complete with 4×4 excursions and nomadic encounters. Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from Casablanca (7:30 AM). Visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. Drive north to Rabat — visit the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah des Oudaias with its Andalusian garden. Continue to Meknes — visit the monumental Bab Mansour gate, Moulay Ismail mausoleum, the granaries of Heri es-Souani. Overnight in Meknes.
Morning visit to the UNESCO Roman ruins of Volubilis — the best-preserved Roman archaeological site in Morocco with stunning 2nd-century mosaics, triumphal arch, and basilica. Drive north into the Rif Mountains to the magical Blue City of Chefchaouen. Afternoon exploring the famous blue-painted medina, the central plaza of Uta el-Hammam, the old kasbah museum, and the Spanish mosque viewpoint. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Morning free in Chefchaouen for photography and last exploration. Drive east to Fes. Full afternoon and evening guided tour of the Fes el-Bali medina — UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the 11th-century Chouara tanneries, Al-Attarine madrasa (stunning Zellige tilework), Bou Inania madrasa, and the ancient Kairaouine mosque. Evening at leisure in the medina. Overnight in Fes.
Early departure from Fes. Drive south through Ifrane and the Azrou cedar forest (Barbary macaques). Lunch in Midelt. Through the Ziz Gorges and Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Sunset camel trek into Erg Chebbi dunes. Traditional dinner, Gnawa music, overnight in luxury desert camp.
Dawn Sahara sunrise. Full day exploring the Erg Chebbi: 4×4 desert excursion to Merzouga flamingo lake and nomadic Berber families, sandboarding down the dunes, visit Khamlia village for live Gnawa music, optional quad biking. Second magical night in the desert camp under the stars.
Second Sahara sunrise. Visit Rissani souk (Alaouite dynasty birthplace). Tinghir oasis stop. Todra Gorges walk (300m high red rock cliffs). Through the Dades gorges to Ait Benhaddou — the UNESCO kasbah immortalized in Hollywood films. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m). Arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon. Guided tour of Marrakech: Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Jardin Majorelle, and evening at Jemaa el-Fna square. Overnight in Marrakech.
Morning free in Marrakech for last shopping in the souks or a visit to Ben Youssef Madrasa. Drive north to Casablanca (~3h via motorway). Arrive in Casablanca by early afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or airport. Tour ends.
