Tour Overview
A photographer's route through Morocco's most photogenic corner. From Tanger, the road hugs the Atlantic to Cape Spartel and the whitewashed town of Asilah, then climbs into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen — its medina washed in every shade of blue — with time for the Spanish Mosque viewpoint and, optionally, the Akchour waterfalls, before returning to Tanger. Day by Day Itinerary
Start your day with a visit to Cape Spartel — the dramatic northwestern tip of Africa where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet, with views of Spain just 14km across the Strait of Gibraltar. Visit the legendary Caves of Hercules — ancient sea caves where Hercules is said to have rested. Return to Tanger for a walk through the historic medina — the kasbah, Petit Socco, and the American Legation Museum (the first US public property outside America). Drive south along the stunning Atlantic coast to Asilah — a beautifully preserved Portuguese-walled town famous for its whitewashed streets, blue-painted alleys, vibrant street art murals, and dramatic cliff-side setting. Evening stroll along the ramparts. Overnight in Asilah.
Morning free to explore more of Asilah's atmospheric medina and rampart walls. Drive north along the Atlantic coast past Larache. Visit Tetouan — a UNESCO-listed Spanish-Moorish city with its distinctive white medina, artisan workshops, and Spanish-era architecture. Continue into the dramatic Rif Mountains to the magical Blue City of Chefchaouen. Afternoon and evening exploring the famous blue alleys, the central plaza, the old kasbah museum, and the waterfall walk beyond the medina. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Morning walk to the Spanish mosque above Chefchaouen for the most spectacular panoramic view of the blue city in the Rif Mountains. Optional excursion to the Akchour waterfalls (1 hour trek through stunning gorges). Drive back to Tanger via Tetouan. Visit Tetouan's medina if not visited yesterday. Arrive back in Tanger by mid-afternoon.
