Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from your hotel in Agadir (7:00–8:00 AM). Drive east through the fertile Souss Valley to Taroudant — the "Small Marrakech," surrounded by magnificent 16th-century ramparts with a lively medina and authentic Berber souk. Cross the spectacular Tizi-n-Test mountain pass (2092m) — one of the most dramatic roads in Morocco, carved into the High Atlas cliffs with breathtaking views. Descend to Ouarzazate — visit the Taourirt Kasbah (largest family kasbah in Morocco) and optional film studios (Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones). Overnight in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, visit the magnificent UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou — the most-filmed location in Morocco. Continue through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm grove along the "Road of One Thousand Kasbahs." Drive through the Dades gorges and the spectacular Todra Gorges (300m high red rock walls). Continue to Merzouga for a sunset camel trek into Erg Chebbi. Traditional Berber dinner, Gnawa music, and overnight in the luxury desert camp under a sky full of stars.
Rise before dawn for the magical Sahara sunrise over the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Breakfast. Return on camels or 4×4 to Merzouga. Visit Rissani souk (Alaouite dynasty birthplace). Drive through Zagora — the "gateway to the Sahara" — and south along the magnificent Draa Valley, Morocco's longest river valley, lined with thousands of date palms and ancient kasbahs. Overnight in Agdz.
Continue north along the Draa Valley passing more ancient kasbahs and palm groves. Drive to Ouarzazate then cross the spectacular High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m) — panoramic stops over the Atlas peaks. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon. Evening at Jemaa el-Fna square. Overnight in Marrakech.
Full guided tour of Marrakech: Koutoubia Mosque gardens, Bahia Palace (19th century, 150 rooms), Saadian Tombs, Jardin Majorelle (cobalt blue Yves Saint Laurent garden), and the vibrant medina souks. Evening at Jemaa el-Fna. Drop-off at your hotel. Tour ends in Marrakech.
