Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from your hotel in Casablanca (7:30 AM). Visit the exterior of the magnificent Hassan II Mosque — the world's third largest mosque, built over the Atlantic Ocean with a 210m minaret (the world's tallest). Drive north to Rabat — Morocco's elegant capital. Visit the Hassan Tower (12th century unfinished minaret), the Mausoleum of Mohammed V (stunning Moroccan craftsmanship), and the Kasbah des Oudaias with its Andalusian gardens. Continue to the imperial city of Meknes — drive through passing the grand Bab Mansour gate. Arrive in Fes by evening. Overnight in Fes.
Full morning guided tour of the legendary Fes el-Bali medina — UNESCO World Heritage Site and world's largest car-free urban area. Visit the 11th-century Chouara tanneries, Al-Attarine madrasa, Bou Inania madrasa, and Kairaouine mosque. Afternoon drive south to Ifrane ("Switzerland of Morocco") and Azrou cedar forest — spot the Barbary macaques. Overnight in Midelt in the Middle Atlas mountains.
After breakfast, drive through the dramatic Ziz Gorges (panoramic view stop) and along the magnificent Ziz Valley — one of Morocco's most beautiful landscapes with vast palm groves. Continue to Erfoud (fossilized marble workshops) and Merzouga. Sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Traditional dinner, live Gnawa music, and overnight under the stars in the luxury Berber desert camp.
Dawn Sahara sunrise. Breakfast. Drive to Rissani souk (Alaouite dynasty birthplace). Continue to Tinghir oasis and the spectacular Todra Gorges (300m high red rock cliffs). Through the Dades Valley to Ait Benhaddou — visit this UNESCO Kasbah, the most photographed monument in Morocco. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Cross the spectacular High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass — the highest paved mountain pass in Morocco. Panoramic stops for stunning views of the Atlas peaks and Berber kasbahs. Arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel/riad or airport. Tour ends in Marrakech.
