2. What Data We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including: full name, email address, phone number, passport details (when required for tour arrangements), travel dates and preferences, dietary and medical requirements (when disclosed), payment information (processed via secure third-party providers), and any communications you send us via email, WhatsApp, or our contact forms.

We do not collect browsing data, cookies for advertising, or any data beyond what is necessary to provide our services.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data exclusively to: confirm and manage your booking, communicate about your tour, arrange accommodation and transport with third-party suppliers, comply with legal obligations, and send you information about future tours (only if you have consented).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with: hotels and accommodation providers (name and stay dates), transport operators (name and tour details), and government authorities when required by Moroccan law. All third parties are bound by confidentiality obligations.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for a maximum of 3 years after your tour completion, or as required by Moroccan tax and commercial law. You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to any legal retention requirements.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Union, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten"), object to processing, request restriction of processing, and data portability. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Our contact forms use HTTPS encryption and are processed via Formspree, a GDPR-compliant service provider.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations by the Client

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to maroccotourismus@gmail.com or WhatsApp. The cancellation date is the date we receive your written notice.

Free Cancellation Offer

Tours booked with our "Free Cancellation" option allow full cancellation with a complete refund, provided notice is given at least 10 days before departure. After 10 days, standard fees apply.

Cancellations by Morocco Tourismus

In the rare event that Morocco Tourismus must cancel a tour, clients will receive a full refund of all payments made, or an alternative tour of equal or greater value. Morocco Tourismus is not liable for any additional costs incurred (flights, accommodation, etc.).

Tour Modifications by the Client

Requests to change tour dates or itinerary after confirmation may incur an amendment fee of €30 per request. Changes requested less than 7 days before departure will be treated as cancellations.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days via the original payment method. Bank transfer fees are deducted from the refunded amount.

Best Time to Visit Morocco

A quick guide by region and season

Morocco's Three Climates

Morocco is a large, geographically diverse country, and the weather can vary dramatically between regions on the very same day. A useful rule of thumb: the desert is hot by day and cold by night, the Atlas Mountains are cool to snowy, and the Atlantic coast stays mild year-round.

Spring (March–May) — Best Overall

Widely considered the best season to visit. Mild temperatures everywhere, wildflowers in bloom in the Atlas foothills, and comfortable desert days before the summer heat arrives. Ideal for combining imperial cities, the Sahara, and coastal stops in a single trip.

Summer (June–August) — Hot Inland, Pleasant Coast

Marrakech, Fes, and the Sahara can be very hot during the day (often 38–45°C in the desert). The Atlantic coast (Essaouira, Agadir, Tanger) stays refreshingly cool thanks to sea breezes. Desert nights are still comfortable. Good season for coastal and mountain tours; desert tours are best done with early starts and shaded rest during peak heat.

Autumn (September–November) — Excellent, Like Spring

Temperatures ease back down after summer, skies stay clear, and the light is beautiful for photography. Along with spring, this is a top pick for first-time visitors wanting to see everything — cities, desert, and coast — comfortably.

Winter (December–February) — Sunny Days, Cold Nights

Days are pleasantly mild and sunny in most of the country, but desert and mountain nights can drop close to freezing — pack warm layers for any Sahara overnight stay. The High Atlas peaks are snow-capped and popular for winter hiking and skiing near Marrakech. Fewer crowds and better prices at riads and hotels.

Our Recommendation

For a first visit combining desert, cities, and coast, April–May or late September–October offer the most comfortable conditions everywhere at once. If you can only travel in summer, favor coastal and mountain routes or start desert excursions before sunrise. If you travel in winter, our desert camps provide extra blankets and heaters for the cold nights.

What to Pack for Morocco

A practical checklist for imperial cities, the Sahara & the coast

Clothing

Lightweight, breathable layers for the day, and a warm layer for evenings — even in summer, desert and mountain nights cool down significantly. A light scarf or shawl is useful for sun protection and for covering shoulders when visiting mosques or more conservative areas. Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes are essential for medinas (uneven cobblestones) and dune walking; sandals are fine for the coast. For winter travel (Nov–Feb), bring a proper warm jacket, hat, and gloves for desert and Atlas Mountain nights.

Sahara Desert Essentials

A warm layer or fleece for the overnight camp (temperatures drop fast after sunset, even in warm months), sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat or cap, a scarf or bandana to protect against blowing sand, and a basic flashlight or headlamp for the desert camp at night.

Sun & Health Protection

High-SPF sunscreen and lip balm with SPF, reusable water bottle (tap water is best avoided — bottled water is provided on our tours), any personal medication in original packaging with a copy of the prescription, and a small first-aid kit (plasters, rehydration salts, motion-sickness tablets for mountain roads).

Documents & Money

Passport (valid 6+ months beyond your return date), printed or digital copies of your booking confirmation and travel insurance, a small amount of Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) for tips and small purchases — widely available from ATMs on arrival, and a debit/credit card as backup.

Electronics

Morocco uses the European-style two-pin plug (Type C/E, 220V) — bring an adapter if coming from the UK, US, or elsewhere with a different plug type. A portable power bank is handy for long desert driving days between charging points.

Good to Know

Pack light where possible — our vehicles have limited luggage space, especially on multi-day desert tours with 4x4 transfers. A soft duffel bag packs more easily into a 4x4 trunk than a rigid suitcase.
