Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from Tanger (8:00 AM). Optional stop at Cape Spartel — where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, with views of Spain 14km away. Drive along the Atlantic coast to the beautiful whitewashed town of Asilah. Continue through Tetouan (UNESCO Spanish-Moorish medina) into the Rif Mountains to the magical Blue City of Chefchaouen. Afternoon exploring the famous blue-painted alleys, central plaza, and old kasbah. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Morning in Chefchaouen's blue medina. Drive east to the UNESCO Roman ruins of Volubilis (stunning 2nd-century mosaics). Visit imperial Meknes (Bab Mansour gate). Arrive in Fes for a full afternoon guided tour of the legendary el-Bali medina — Chouara tanneries, Al-Attarine madrasa, Kairaouine mosque. Overnight in Fes.
Early departure from Fes. Drive south through Ifrane and the Azrou cedar forest (Barbary macaques). Lunch in Midelt. Spectacular drive through the Ziz Gorges and Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Traditional dinner, Gnawa music, overnight in luxury desert camp.
Dawn Sahara sunrise. Visit Rissani souk. Drive through Tinghir oasis and the spectacular Todra Gorges (300m high walls). Continue through the Dades Valley and Rose Valley. Visit the UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Cross the spectacular High Atlas via Tizi-n-Tichka pass with panoramic stops. Arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon. Optional guided tour of the medina (Jemaa el-Fna, Bahia Palace, souks). Drop-off at your hotel. Tour ends in Marrakech.
