Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from your hotel in Tanger (8:00 AM). Optional quick stop at Cape Spartel — the dramatic headland where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, with views of Spain just 14km away. Drive south along the Atlantic coast to Asilah — a beautiful whitewashed Atlantic town famous for its ramparts, blue-painted streets, and vibrant street art murals. Continue through Tetouan (brief stop at the UNESCO-listed Spanish colonial medina) and up into the Rif Mountains to the magical Blue City of Chefchaouen. Spend the late afternoon exploring the famous blue-painted medina — the Uta el-Hammam square, the Spanish mosque hill viewpoint, and the photogenic blue alleys. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Morning free to explore more of Chefchaouen — walk to the Spanish mosque for panoramic views of the blue city in the mountains. Drive east through Ouezzane (sacred Sufi city) and the fertile plains of Gharb. Visit Volubilis — the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating to the 3rd century BC with stunning mosaics still intact. Continue to the imperial city of Meknes — visit Bab Mansour gate (one of the most beautiful gateways in Morocco) and the medina. Arrive in Fes by evening. Overnight in Fes.
Full morning guided tour of the Fes el-Bali medina — the world's largest car-free urban area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the famous Chouara tanneries (the oldest in the world, dating to the 11th century), the Al-Attarine madrasa, Bou Inania madrasa, the ancient Kairaouine mosque (the world's oldest university), and the vibrant souks of spices, ceramics, leather, and brass. Afternoon drive back to Tanger (~3 hours). Arrive in Tanger by evening.
