Day by Day Itinerary
Morning departure from Agadir. Stop in Taroudant, known as 'Little Marrakech' for its red ramparts and souks. Cross the High Atlas via the dramatic Tizi-n-Test pass (2,092m). Arrive in Ouarzazate, Morocco's film-studio capital, by evening. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Visit the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, then drive south via Zagora and the palm-lined Draa Valley to Merzouga. Sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, Berber dinner and music, overnight in a desert camp.
Dawn Sahara sunrise over the dunes. Full day exploring Erg Chebbi: a 4×4 excursion to the flamingo lake and nomadic Berber families, sandboarding down the dunes, and a stop in Khamlia village for live Gnawa music. Second night in the desert camp under the stars.
